D&D General Class based off animated music video

I'm a big fan of this band Rotting Christ. This animated video came out a little bit ago.

While watching it I wanted to try play a character like the main character in the video. Its not a ton of info to go off of so I thought I'd ask here for some suggestions on what you think it could be

I was thinking maybe a cleric?

The only thing we really saw was Athletics, and whatever happened when he drank the goblet. You could be an Oath of Glory Paladin just strutting around looking stoic while you perform mighty athletic deeds, with your aura helping you save against drinking the goblet. Some kind of War Cleric would be a distant second pick.

Clearly a Dread Pirate, given how well he climbed the Cliffs of Insanity, and sailed a boat by himself.

Failing that, he's a bard with some nice spells, because I thought I heard scream metal playing wherever he went.

I was thinking thief. He was using some sort of magic item to control the ship movements since nobody else was around. He disarmed traps to get past the goblet trap. He was smart enough to run away from the stone golem with the bonus action dash. He had a cloak pulled low to hide his face- must be up to no good.

I think with current D&D a paladin might be a good choice. I would customize it a bit with background and feat choices to allow him to be viable in medium armor and more athletic. So, proficient in STR and DEX abilities like a thief. I'm not sure how a multiclass Pal/Rog would work, and I tend to avoid multiclassing in general, but that's the vibe I'm getting from the video. A servant of a temple who has excellent agility, endurance, and piety who has just literally run a gauntlet to prove themselves.
