Long story short, playing a campaign with 4 human brothers as characters. 1 died, the Favored Soul of Kord. It was agreed beforehand between the DM & player that upon returning to life, feats would be retrained to allow for the Vow of Poverty feat, the plan being to work towards Favored Soul/Monk to Sacred Fist. Should be an exciting build. RP'd a conversation in Ysgard in the afterlife, received a stern talking to about being sloppy, Favored Soul learned some lessons, coming back with a vengeance.
Anywho, we search for a way to get him back to life. We encounter a Druid Woodling who offers a reincarnation spell. DM says if we accept this, Favored Soul will receive the Woodling Template. Nifty. Since all the other players are level 6, Favored Soul died at 5, should be dropped to level 4, we wanted some cleaner math... it was arranged that he'd be a Favored Soul 3/Wooding (+3LA) for an ECL of 6.
Here is the question. The progression for Vow of Poverty is based upon character level progression. The Woodling spell-like abilities is based off of HD progression. Are we correct in granting Vow of Poverty abilities up to level 6 (which is the ECL), and Woodling SLA up to level 3 (Which is his HD based upon Class?)
