i apologize for my ambiguity. Let me explain using an example: Druids are drawn from Celtic myth. Druids in D&D have the ability to wildshape. There are several "druids" in other settings/systems drawn from the same source that D&D used to create their own class. These other druids do not use wildshape. What abilities do they have in place that make them druids? Druids from myth afaik did not wildshape, so this abilitiy was conceived by wizards.
This could apply to other classes as well.
I hope this clarifies my question, I've been really pressed for time right now (2nd semester pre-med is really driving me up the wall, and trying to create a homebrew and pull out A's is no easy chore......When I posted this question, like many other days I was running on very few hours of sleep.
