Classic 3.0 (OoC thread: Discussion Thread: etc.)

Welcome to Classic 3.0! This adventure was started on August 23rd of this year and has some tribulations, but the one remaining player (and myself, the replacement DM) are trying to keep it alive. Please help and join us! We are trying to keep the group small so that there is a better relationship between it's members, and quicker resolutions to conflics.

This is a classic Greyhawk adventure with orc bashing and dungeon crawling (though none of that has occured yet). Here are the character creation rules:

-phb races only
-1st lvl
-phb classes for first lvl
-nothing different from core rulebooks
-32 pt character
-default gold

There is our 2nd level Paladin in the group of one right now to help you in your endeavors. The reason that I'm starting you out at 1st is that he's earned that 2nd level through perserverance, and think that giving him that small advantage is not going to hurt in the long run (especially since the you'll be catching up soon enough).

The history of this adventure to this point is simple. The characters started in a small town, looking for a job/adventure/trouble, when an injored man on horse back gallopes into town proclaiming that orcs had attacked his town, and then died in the arms of the towns people. Our heros took up the quest to find out what's happening, and stop the threat if possible.

On the way to the next town, they were ambushed by orcs and surviving that attack with only two of the 4 original members intact (one character dropped out and I killed mine so that I could DM the thread when the original DM disappeared), the companions found a trail and followed it to the orcs camp, where, after a struggle, defeated them and recaptured their booty and a captive that the orcs had bound in a sack. She was but a girl, but in such clothing that it was odvious that she was of some importance. Bringing the girl back to the town they had come from originally, and meeting with the mayer, they found out that the girl was none other then Princess Jackleen the direct heir to the throne of Galadin, the land to the north that has been at peace with this land for over 200 years.

The second to last character dropped from the game at this point.

At this point the party has to make a choice whether they want to continue against the orcs or escort the Princess back to her homeland.

Please come join us on this quest so that the orc hoard does not succeed in whatever diabolical plans they have put into motion!

Interested

If you think you might can risk having a newbie to this format, but who has been lurking on the boards for awhile, I would be interested in trying my hand at the game.

Count me in, definitely (if you'll have me, anyway). My first thoughts concern a Wizard, possibly a Diviner... a specialist, anyway. I can have a character posted by tomorrow night.

Must join more games.
Must regain prestigiously huge number of games.
Must play more D&D.
Must.. um... Must.. uh...Must make character.

Must post character for aproval.

BTW, what's 'default gold'? Is it max gold from the random table?

Verbatim, you are welcome, just get your character made soon so that I can approve it. Hurry, though, since I'll only be excepting two characters, and there are three showing interest, one already having a character complete.

Chaos Apostate, a Devinor sounds great. As I mentioned above, just be aware that I'm only excepting 2 players, so the last one is between you and Verbatim.

Jemal, Default gold is...

Barbarian, Bard - 100gp
Cleric, Rogue - 125gp
Druid - 50gp
Fighter, Paladin, Ranger - 150gp
Monk - 12.5gp
Sorceror, Wizard - 75gp

Jonathon looks great! Go ahead and add him to the Rogues Gallery (the link is in the first post of this thread).

Well, I'm already in a couple of games and DMing another so maybe it would be best if I just stepped aside and let Verbatim fill the spot.

Have fun guys! :D

Jemal, go ahead and introduce your charter in the IC thread. He can be an associate of the Mayer, or even just traveling through. You have leaway, though if you're going to get fancy, let me know so I can work it into the plot. Oh, and don't get TOO fancy.

Verbatim, I hope you're still watching this one, because you are welcome to join. Once you have your character approved you can jump right into the game.

THanks Choas.

Description:

Veitus' frame may not be as broad as many of his clanmates, but what the slender dwarf may lack in strength, he makes up for it with his wits and agility. His training has forced him to admit that a trimmed beard is more functional than the ornate braids his race favors, but he longs for the day when he can stow his razor away forever.

Veitus' armor and weapons are plain, but well tended, and while he has no qualms about placing himself in a position to use them, he worries that his training may not allow him to function as well as many may expect.

History:

Clan Blackforge's elders choose a select number of young dwarves every generation with the task of retrieving items that have been lost, or stolen, through the ages. Those that are chosen, begin training in skills that many consider most "undwarven", but when a Finder returns with a piece of dwarven history that many feared lost, for a brief while he, or she, are accepted as equals among the clan.

When Veitus was offered this oppurtunity, the orphaned dwarf embraced it with open arms. Showing great promise in using and identifying the training relics, Veitus' training took on a more arcane path, but in the end, the life of a mage was not one that he wished to pursue.

When the time came for Veitus to leave, he was given the essential tools he would need, as well as a few silvers to ease his journey.

Hope the history was okay, I tried to get the jist of what his past was, but didn't want to bog down the process of getting him approved with too long of a history.
