Classic Adventures

Another vote for White Plume Mountain! Also, I doubt it would be called a "Classic" as it was written for 2E but I really liked A Paladin in Hell. Lost Caverns of Tsjocanth was a great one too. If you want a REALLY memorable module though I can't think of any as memorable as Expedition to the Barrier Peaks.

Classic Goodies

While there are many who might object to this or may think it's not truly a classic because it's 2E, but if you get a copy of the Night Below boxed set it's worth your trouble.

Overarching storyline? Check.
Lots of NPCs and roleplaying? Check.
Interesting combats with action? Check.
Potential to be overcome by hack-n-slash, yes, sorta-check.

Take out some of the rediculous "storm the foe and fight hundreds of the critters" section like I did and play up the mystery, locations and races of the underdark and you'll find many of them don't resort to combat at all.

So it looks like some options I have are GDQ, Desert of Desolation, the megamodule for Slavers, and the Night Below. None of these apparently fit together well, level wise (old Slavers could fit into GDQ, but not the megamodule, which is more sensical, plotwise). I've been able to find conversions for Desert and Slavers, but does anyone here know of 3e/3.5e conversions for GDQ or the Night Below? I know there was a good conversion of Night Below, but the website has since died and Google doesn't have caches of the actual conversions. I also see G1 and G2 are in the conversion library, but they don't seem to be well modified to getting ELs within a more narrow field (too much variation, I think)

And if there's any advice for running any of these, together or otherwise, I'd really appreciate it!

I'm probably going to get the PDFs of all of these and just run what I like the most, unless anyone has any more advice, but 3e conversions already available will make me much more likely to run any of them

Thanks!

All right...where can I find these old adventures? I've searched WotC's site, but no dice so far.

Most, if not all of them, are available as downloads (ESDs) through
RPG Now and SV Games. I've heard better things about RPG now, though either way, scan quality varies so it might be worth asking folks on the board first to see if anyone has experience with the module in question.

The conversion library on this site is under downloads. Most of the mentioned modules are on there.

I'd go for Temple of Elemental Evil. It has a lot to go on and your campaign can go far on it. G1-D3 are great too if your PC's are higher level.
