Cleric domans stack with wizard spells?

If my cleric domain gives me a bonus to casting spells of type X (e.g. earth) when I take wizard levels does that carry over to arcane spells?

I'm thinking the answer is "no".

Why the level of cleric? In a campaign I played in, there was an elven evoker who took a level of cleric - and has regretted it ever since.

Oh, just RP purposes.

The character in question would be a Gnome Illusionist with the "Gnome" domain from the FR. That gives +1 caster level to all illusion spells. So it isn't as much a waste.

Besides, the +2 fort saves won't exactly kill the little guy.

Hey, BG -- why stop at the Gnome domain?

Pick up the Illusion domain, too, and get another +1 caster level for illusion spells.

And consider at least leaving Mystic Theurge open. Cleric(3)/Illusionist(7)/Theurge(10) could be fun to play ...
