Simple question...

Shoudl i...

1. play a human cleric of tymora (str 14, dex 12, con 14, Int 12, Wis 16, Cha 14). He's cool, strong, and wise, and a comedian to boot.

or

2. play a fey'ri rogue/fighter (str 12, dex 18, con 12, int 16, wis 12, cha 14; with Demonic Abilities: clairaudience/clairvoyance (sp) 1/day, damage reduction 10/+1, Darkness (sp) 1/day, suggestion (sp) 1/day; startgin level 1 with the rest of the party (all standard races) on level 1, and gaining levels such as this
- standard=1, fey'ri=1
- s=2, f=1
- s=3, f=2,
- s=4, f=2,
- s=5, f=3,
- s=6, f=3...after this point, it resumes as normal, because she will be equal level *1 level of Rogue/2 fighter, with two weapon feats, finess cutlass, and will be ECL 6, same as a standard level 6 character* owns no magic items, but has mithral, and mastercraft items up to the gold amount thats alocated to a 5th level character *2 mithral mastercraft cutlasses, 2 mastercraft daggers, mighty composite mastercraft shortbow (+1), mastercraft thieves tools, and then just some standard items, and 7pp in her boots *i'm meant to have another 700gp or so, but i made her not have it for equality issues.*

Now seeing my two characters *one simple, one dastardly complicated* which should i be more inclined to play?

Any Opinons?

Thanks in advance.

well...on the coolness factor, i'd have to go with the Fey'ri...

being able to cast clairvoyance to see the orc encampment *if you know about it that is* and then alter self, into an orc to infiltrate the camp and get a lay of the land has got to be one of the biggest woopees...

still...any more opinons?

(btw, i party will be lacking a cleric, though we'll have a druid (and wizard, fighter, barbarian/ranger, and if i can convince a friend (who knows nothing about the game, and only concern is this) we might have a cleric of Lathander *oh, so average a cleric ^sigh^*)

I voted Fey'ri. If the party doesn't have the rogue angle covered, you'll need to do it. A druid can fill the healing angle if the party springs for a wand of CLW every 4 sessions or so (I recommend doing this from party loot before everyone takes their share). Only a rogue can disarm traps though.

There is a concern with your feat and items listing though:
2 cutlasses: Last I checked, cutlass transferred to the D&D system as a scimitar and consequently cannot be finessed and can only be dual wielded by people who think -2 to all their attacks is a good deal in return for an extra point of crit threat range. Do yourself a favor and dual wield shortswords. Or handaxes. Or throwing axes (that way you can finish your full attack action by throwing your axes if you have an attack left after killing your foe). Or forget about dual wielding and use a rapier. (You can't dual wield 2 rapiers without taking the -4/-4 penalty because rapier is a medium weapon and does not count as light; it's in the same category as the spiked chain that way).

Oh, and make sure to get the shortbow mighty [+2] instead of +1. You'll get bull's strength and you'll be glad to be able to use the extra bonus.

And if you're stashing coins in your boots just in case you get robbed, make sure to have a few coppers and silvers. If you're escaping from the BBEG and trying to hide in a city nothing will get you remembered more quickly than paying for your ales with platinum.

I picked the cleric. WHy? Well for the first you had a simple description and a personality. At least a basic one. The second was an impressive set of stat blocks. I'm not certain what a Fey'ri is, though I'm certain they have lots of neat powers.

Always go for the character who you can feel as a person over a collection of stats. I don't know if that's your true feeling about both characters, but it is what you posted.

well, so far the votes are close, and there is a possiblity our druid will go a rogue...he's never played before, and spellcaster may not be his forte...without a good grasp on the rules...and rogue you can always advice "search for traps, disarm the trap, don't look into the peephole"
