Cleric/Paladin Turning question

So let's say you go 1 level cleric and get turning ability. Then you progress 3 levels as paladin and get turning ability. Do these stack in any way?

Turning lets you do 3 +CH turning attempts per day. Would the second turning let you do an additional 3 turning attempts, no additional turning attempts, or something else?

Our GM is concerned that the extra turning attempts could be abused through Divine Feats.

Is there any ruling on this? Thanks.

Yes, the turning stacks. a Clr1/Pld 3 turns as a second level cleric. You still only turn 3+cha modifier per day. The only way to increase that is with the extra turning feat

Does the deafening silence after Crothian's post indicate a consensus opinion on this particular topic? Hope so, 'cause that's the way I've ruled it

Yup.. agree with Crothian.

When it comes to your effective turning level, your class levels stack. In this case, the character would turn as a level 2 Cleric.

(1 Cleric + (3 Pal -2)) = 2 (that is, clerics turn as their own level and paladins turn as a cleric of two levels lower).

Your number of turnings per day, however, is still 3 + Cha mod (+ any applicable feats such as extra turning)

I am almost positive that I saw this in the FAQ somewhere as well.
