Clerical Feats?

What feat should i take as my second feat? I have Power Attack.

Cleave?
Extra Turning? (so i can get the Divine feats?)
Weapon Focus? (also considering i can't get Specialization)
Spell Focus?
This will depend on a few factors in your game, and how you want to play your cleric.

If you intend to rush into the thick of it with the fighter--->Cleave

If you think your DM is going to use lots of undead--->Extra Turning

If you like any of the "Divine" feats from DoTF--->Extra Turning

If you think you'll be slinging offensive spells--->Spell Focus

Is there any point in say taking

Power Attack
Cleave

1st level, and then getting
Extra Turning, at level 3? considering this would allow me to get Divine Vigor level 9 (i'm avoiding Divine might, as i only have Cha 14, and 2 rounds isn't all that good, for only a +2 damage)

Level 6 as i said earlier, i'll take the Leadership Feat. Would their be reason to take Spell Focus (Evocation) at level 12?

The only reason would be if you already had high wis. Otherwise, you don't really even want to waste spell slots on direct damage dealing spells, or even any sort of spell with a save. Instead you want to take feats that enhance your buffs, such as extend spell, persistent spell, and maybe empower spell (depending on the availability of magic items in your game).

When it comes to feats for clerics, it really depends on the ideas contained within your deity's portfolio and the message contained within your deity's dogma.

If your religion ( or the practice of worshiping your deity ) places emphasis on doing certain things, then the feats your cleric possesses should do something to reflect his or her beliefs.

The cleric class seems very open and overpowered for a reason. It was done to provide DMs a safe margin of error when roleplaying deities, so the person playing the cleric never feels too slighted.

I would ask your DM about what kinds of behaviors would please your characters diety the most. Then pick good feats that compliment your character's religion, and let the character trust in his or her own beliefs.

I'm in the process of bulding a 1st level human cleric myself, and I've also been torn when it comes to choosing feats. (What I want seems similar: He's a cleric of Pelor and will be pretty combat orientated.)

Here are my thoughts, influenced by what I've seen in this thread so far:

First: Weapon Focus is not an option for a 1st level Cleric, as its prereq is BAB +1.

Second: No one has mentioned Combat Casting. I'm aware that most people find it useless at higher levels when you can have a high concentration skill, but doesn't it become quite useful for a cleric at low levels who might want to heal his party in the thick of battle?

Third: If you've already chosen Power Attack, then why not go with Sunder instead of Cleave?

You will propably have fighters in your party cleaving away, so going with sunder instead will make your character have something special, and (IMHO) it fits a good cleric better to destroy his opponents weapons, maybe forcing them to surrender, instead of merely cutting them down (cleave).

Hmm; I guess that even for a spellcaster-focused cleric, Imp Init probably isn't worth it. OK; my suggestion in that case is to take Extra Turning at 1st level instead of II, and maybe Divine Vigor or Divine Cleansing instead of Spell Focus.

Maybe, but to be honest, feats are too rare to waste them on ones that become drastically less useful as you level. Besides, you should stand behind your party members when you heal them.

Because you don't want your fellow party members attacking you when you destroy foes' valuable weapons, is my guess. (Sorry, that was a bit snarky...) I like the RP aspect of peacefully subduing your foes, but then you should go with Improved Disarm.
