Clerical PrCs?

I was looking for some cool divine prestige classes that offer the +1 spellcaster level at each PrC level as well...

Anybody got any cool/unusual ones?

Something focusing on defense would be preferred...

I like the Contemplative PrC from DotF. You get +1 spellcaster per level, and some nifty immunities (poison, diseases). Plus some other abilities.

One of the best ones, IMO, is the Sacred Exorcist from Defenders of the Faith. Full Caster Progression+Special anti-undead abilities. And the Pre-requisities are easy to get in 3.5.

If you want a warrior-type cleric, then you can't go wrong with the Hospitaller*. Fighter BAB+Full casting prog. It's in the same book.

*I think the Hospitaller is pretty cheezy as it is and I don't really allow it in my games without some nerfing.

If you have the Book of Exalted Deeds, check out the Fist of Raziel PrC. I had originally pegged it as a paladin PrC, but then I realised how powerful it can be when applied to a cleric. With +10 BAB and +9 spellcaster levels over 10 levels, it's like an Eldritch Knight for divine spellcasters. Plus, you constantly radiate a Magic Circle Against Evil, can Smite Evil 5/day, get a whole host of smite-related powers, and turn any weapon you wield into a Holy weapon.

Gotta say, the prestige classes in the BoED, and in fact most of the crunchy bits in general, are looking pretty impressive so far. I should be able to find a place for a lot of it in my campaign, which is more than I could say about the BoVD.

Although the NIPPLE CLAMPS OF EXQUISITE PAIN did make a cameo appearance, before being crushed to smithereens by a falling wall of iron. A tragic waste.

Radiant Servant of Pelor. It concentrates on healing and turning undead.

Which makes it different from the standard cleric... how? ;)

At any rate, I was sort of keen to the idea of writing up PrCs and orders and "specialty priests" within priesthoods, but I don't see that many publishers have taken this tack yet.
