Clerics and sacrificing a spell for a metamagic-ed cure.

As a cleric, could I sacrifice, say, a 4th level spell to cast a 2nd level cure spell but use a metamagic feat with it that would make it a 4th level spell? Example:

I sacrifice 'Restoration' (4th level), for a 'Cure Moderate Wounds' (normally 2nd level) but use the 'Reach Spell' metamagic feat which bumps it up to a 4th level spell?

Thanks

Yes... I think.

I think that is within the rules. I haven't read anything that expressly forbids that type of sacrificing for higher leveled meta-spells. My DM has said he will allow it. I finished a campaign last year using a spell point system and I gave them some freedom to do this. That was a can of worms better left unopened. But I can't see why a cleric can't trade down for meta-healing spells.

Yes, its ok to do such a thing. Remember that spontaneously casting a metamagicked spell takes longer (in the case of a cure spell, its a full round action).

Yes

I believe this is legitimate, but it will take a full-round action (just like a sorcerer who applies a metamagic feat against a spontaneous spell).
