Portable Pole
melee weapon (simple, quarterstaff), rare, (requires attunement)
While the staff is a common choice of implement and weapon for magic users, adventuring through dungeons and confined quarters with a lengthy and bulky hunk of wood can be inconvenient. NO MORE! Designed by the renowned Mage Mays, the Portable Pole has a command word that can -as a bonus action- send the quarterstaff to a pocket dimension specifically designed by Mage Mays to store staves. Then, all it takes is uttering the command word again -as a bonus action- to instantly summon your Portable Hole right to your hand. As everyone knows, a stave in the hand is better than two in the bush.
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!!!
During a long rest, a magic user can store a cantrip that they know in the Portable Pole. Doing so does not prevent the magic user from casting the cantrip as normal. After storing a cantrip and while wielding the Portable Pole, the magic user may cast the stored cantrip from Portable Pole as a bonus action. Any level-based effects (i.e. damage scaling) of the cantrip still function as though cast by the magic user This ability persists until the next long rest, at which time the magic user may either continue to store the cantrip or they may choose to change the stored cantrip to a different cantrip that they know.
