Is it? I had thought that it spanned the Clone Wars as a whole (like the Clone Wars cartoon.) IIRC, the Clone Wars cartoon ends right where RotS begins, with Palpatine's "abduction", the attack on Coruscant and Anakin and Obi Wan racing back to join the fray. I guess that they could set the new series between the cartoon and RotS, but it would be kinda short...

Some of it looks familiar, but a lot doesn't. It may be an expansion on that.

You're right. Maybe it covers the space between the two "seasons" of Clone Wars? It jump quite a bit after Anakin got knighted.

I think there are still plans to do a live action show, but obviously they worked on this one first.

Yeah, that could work. Anakin has enough time to get his scar and grow his hair and stuff, after all . I think that I saw Anakin in the trailer with short hair, but not the padawan style. So maybe the new series runs from after his knighting. That would be cool. I prefer older, darker Anakin (RotS) to younger, whiny Anakin (AotC).

Like GoodKingJayIII says, they are also doing a live action series, which seems to be quite ambitious in scope. They're talking 100+ episodes, movie-quality (although shot with lower budgets!), covering a series of arcs that fill the gap between RotS and ANH. We're supposed to see minor characters expanded, possibly a couple of major cameos, and stuff dealing with an undisclosed bounty hunter. I'm hoping that George Lucas decides to whore out Boba Fett some more. Cynical as it is, I can't get enough of the Fett .
