[closed] 3.5 or CODA Tolkien inspired anyone?

Hah...ferretguy was one of my Rolemaster/MERP players for about 5 years.
Dwarven Druid...(slaps dave).

Garyh, remember way back when I invited you to play in RL with my group? ferretguy is one of my gamerbuds.

Anyways, Would we be using D&D racial rules or some conversion from the net?

Mmm....Sindar Ranger...

I'm SOOOO down for this if you'll have me. I was in the two other ill-fated ME games and still rue both collapses. I'd actually prefer giving the CODA system a go, but am fine with D20 also.

What if we use the race/class rules from the hosted site?

Let me know what you think about using these rules. In real life campaigns I always ask my players what they want to do as the players are what drives the story.

edit: I will allow some of the spells that are in the suggested list of excluded spells on the above link. I will go over the list and post the accepted spells.

There are still places, Inez, it is fine for you to join in.

What level were you thinking, hellbender?
Noldor Paladin was what I was thinking if it was set in the Second Era.

The Noldor are a +3 ECL, however.

If you are set on this character, that is fine, however, I would either have you start out at first level with the bonuses intact, or restrict stat bonuses on say 3 stats that your character could develop as they advance in levels. Does this sound fair to everyone? I would like all players to begin on a fairly even level at level three.

These spells from the excluded list on the hosted Middle-Earth site I will allow:

Animate Dead
Drawmij's Instant Summons
"Leomund's" spells
Levitate
"Otiluke's" spells
"Polymorph" spells - all
Refuge
Sepia Snake Sigil
Shadow Walk
Shapechange
Spectral Hand
Stone to Flesh
Tasha's Hideous Laughter
"Teleport" spells - all
"Transmute" spells - all
Vanish

Sorcerors and wizards will have to work hard to gain new spells as magic is guarded for the most part and many people do not like anything strange or out of the ordinary. This will be a variant of Middle-Earth, set at the beginning of the Second Age, when Angband has been destroyed and fell creatures roam the land.

Is there still room to jump in? I'm definatly intesested if its 3.5...my mind is wandering around the idea of a Sindar Ranger...

If everyone interested is still wanting to play, you will make number seven, and I will close the recruitment with you.
