Can everyone post their characters here by this weekend, or by next Tuesday at the latest (since the weekend is a holiday in the US, I don't want to get going until after the holiday weekend).

...I could make one today, actually. Just need to know if we're doing Point Buy/how many points/anything else about character creation. :)

Character creation:

28 point buy 4th level to start. For determing wealth, magic items are rare and precious in Middle-Earth, so please run anything out of the ordinary by me. For the most part, enchanted weapons should be the most common magic item, but I will entertain what you throw at me.

Alignment: Any good, neutral good, lawful neutral, true neutral. Probably being a bit redundant there (on my first cup of java), but I can see neutral characters in Middle-Earth, although everyone would ultimately either be with the Light or the Shadow.

Setting: A variant of the Second Age of Middle-Earth (1550). Angband has been destroyed for over 1500 years. Numenor and Eregion are flourishing. Although Morgoth has been overthrown, his servant Sauron is very much active, secretly manipulating Elves. The Rings of Power are being forged, the One Ring has yet to be made.

Any other questions, please feel free to post here.

I can change the format to something else if you want...I can also put in the stats for his horse. Background is still being worked out in my head. I usually don't write it down, just slowly get a feel for the character and then get things worked out better.

Are we going with 3.5? I thought hellbender said, as per the hosted site. Which would make rangers follow the Monte Cook design. I need this ansewered before I can make my character.

We will be going with 3.5, as the consensus was with that version. Is it ok with you to use the Monte Cook Ranger variant? I have a copy of it handy if you need it. It is the Ranger I use in my real life games and the variant works well with 3.5.

Hope that helps!

I wouldn't mind the warhorse statistics if you have them handy. The format you went with is fine with me. What I will do is save a copy of all the characters into a folder and make a copy of that folder and also print it out so I can have it handy when on or off the computer, or on my spare system as well.

I used the 3.5 Ranger for my character, but it would be interesting to have both a variant and the official one. I've got nothing against Monte's Ranger, but I personally prefer the Official classes to most variants.
