I would know either back at home what snow is, but Sunday we walked around Big Trees National (or State) Park in Calaveras County (famous due to a jumping frog named Dan'l Webster). We walked the trail (almost as high up as Denver) among the giant sequoia trees in the snow. Every morning here our car and surroundings are covered in frost, which is a great thing for one week out of the year.
Fortunately down at our place in Angels Camp (elevation 1300) there is no snow, so it has not been necessary to put the cables on our tires. It was hard enough to put them on back home in warm weather to check if they fit.
We also went cave exploring in California Cavern. A guide took the kids and me for the deluxe tour, where we had the opportunity to squeeze/crawl/squirm through spaces barely big enough for me to fit through, while wearing mining helmets.
I am so not looking forward to getting back to home schooling.
