Given the longstanding eTools quality and support tradgedy I really hope people play it smart and don't preorder these datasets. Nothing against Codemonkey, I hope they can win back peoples trust for WotC. Eric Noah is right that we should wait and see how the patched eTools comes out. If we see nothing substantial being changed about the core program I can't see how paying even $10 before hand is worth these data sets.
I don't think data sets should be generated until after revision 3.5 comes out. They should spend the time before this focusing on patching and completing eTools to a state worth the original money paid for it.
By the way, are there sny details on how much these data sets will be integrated with the program interface. That is, will we be able to apply filters and easily select and sort the data in eTools from the interface? Will accurate and sufficient documentation be included with these data sets?
All these data sets make me wonder if the customization features of eTools will ever get completed in the patch. It doesn't make much sense to pay $14 for a data set if you could enter in a prestige class on your own such as through Davin's editor.
