CN vs. N: Chaotic Neutral Victorious!

Oops, totally forgot about the clouds. By my adjusted calculations, John would end up at 45N35E and 0Z, leaving himself open for attack, but otherwise his action would have been the same. Do you want to retcon or just continue with the cat deeply into the other cloud? If the latter, Johnny Airy will fly through both clouds (at 1/2 move, right?), searching for his opponent, and finally end up at 85N100E, then try to swoop him up again to an altitude of 30Z.

I forgot about the clouds too, so I will revise things a bit. In the first round, the cat entered at 25N instead of 55N. Then Johnny did his thing at 25N, the cat dodged, and it moved to 65N90E, just barely in the cloud. Johnny's move in round 538. He is at 25N40E20Z.

Johnny will move to 60N85E and then up to a height of 90Z if he has picked up the cat, otherwise he will not move up. Note that I'm leaving about 25ft of extra movement in case needed to do a little searching in the cloud.

The cat's path to the cloud was directly east, turn at a right angle, then directly north. What is Johnny's path considering that he is starting at 20Z? The numbers don't add up for me if Johnny has 25 feet left over.

I forgot he was at 20Z actually. Following a more precise calculation, not even cutting any corners to get down, he flies 20ft straight down to 25N40E, then goes east 30ft to 25N70E, then goes northeast 20ft to 40N85E, then north 20ft to 60N85E. At this point (not even a single move action complete - 90ft), he tries to pick up the cat. If successful, he will fly straight up 90ft, giving him 20ft to spend on the double movement upwards through the cloud, assuming that the cloud stays. Though, actually, does the whirlwind remove the cloud? If it's a moderate wind, it should remove it in one round. Johnny is 50ft tall, btw.

Round 538

OOC: Yes, the cloud disperses, which is why I wanted to see if you travelled through other clouds. Johnny will have to lower his height to 30 feet to go up to 90Z.

The cat takes 14 and is picked up. It has 38 hp left.

The cat hits with a claw, but misses with its bite because it is airborne. The claw does 12-5-1= 6 points of damage. Johnny has 130 hp left.

Johnny will move to 60N105E100Z (30ft), reducing himself to 10ft in height in order to compensate for the altitude, and then eject the cat. Assuming the ejection is a standard action, Johnny will fly back down to 70N100E50Z. If it's a free action, he will land at that spot.

Things look grim for the kitty. Particularly if he didn't survive the fall.

Round 539

Johnny ejects and lands. The cat takes 11 points of damage from the whirlwind and 35 from the fall. The cat does survive the fall, but is dying and defeated.

Next up for CN: a red slaad. (MM) It goes next in round 539. Johnny is in a 5 foot cloud of debris at 60N105E, which does not provide concealment. He has 130 hp.

OOC: Actually, Johnny should be at 70N100E. Part of the point was to remove some more of the cloud. It was the intention to move through more of the cloud to get rid of it because chances are that the clouds would do the CN side more good, on average, given the CN dragons and no N dragons.

A large, red-skinned toad with no neck and a massive, flat head rumbles into the arena to 0N20E. Romaine bears no weapons except a huge maw filled with yellowed teeth and two claws. He tries to summon his grade school buddy, Iceberg, at 20N50E. If Iceberg appears, he will ready to croak when/if the air elemental approaches.

General I2K is excited that the salads are finally entering the arena. It is unfortunate that they are fighting Johnny, though. Still, they have a chance. Romaine is not looking forward to a 90ft drop.

OOC: OK, my mistake on where he landed. I think there are still a couple of things to clarify going forward.

1) The whirlwind's position - Johnny was huge before turning into a whirlwind, which meant that he occupied the nine squares NE of the stated position. But now that he is a whirlwind, he is a cone that is 5 feet wide at the base, so he is more like a medium size creature that widens as his height increases. So when I state Johnny's position, please keep this in mind.

2) Fog cloud removal - If a whirlwind can create a cloud of debris with a 1/2 height diameter, that should generate enough wind to destroy a fog cloud in that area. Tracing Johnny's steps as a 50 foot tall whirlwind, that means the eastern portion of the middle cloud has already been destroyed past 75E, and the southern portion of the eastern cloud has been destroyed up to 80N (after Johnny attains a height of 30 at his current position, which he plans to do).

Iceberg shows up!

Round 540: Johnny increases his height to 30, then goes 25 feet south to 45N100E, then goes directly west. When he reaches 45N80E, Iceberg croaks. Johnny ignores him and proceeds to 45N10E, wiping out the southern portion of the western and middle clouds up to 55N. He then moves 35 feet directly south to 10N10E, then 10 feet east to 10N20E.

Romaine takes 11 and is picked up. He has 41 hp left.

Johnny then moves north 10 feet to 20N20E, then 30 feet east to 20N50E.

Iceberg takes 5 and is picked up. He has 41 hp left.
