CN vs. N: Chaotic Neutral Victorious!

Round 544: Johnny comes down and meets up with Cousin It's claw (rolled 25), but Cousin It isn't strong enough to do any damage.

Cousin It resists the whirlwind damage, but is picked up. Johnny lowers his height to 20, flies up to 90N15E100Z, and drops Cousin It. It takes 40 points of damage and has 4 hp left.

Johnny snaps out of his whirlwind and flies down to 85N10E40Z (huge size now).

It staggers over to 85N0E, going on total defense and putting Dodge on Johnny. AC 23 will still not be enough to protect him. A booming, draconic voice is heard from the crowds, though, "Sissy! Zis is KAOS! Zer is no total defense here!"

Round 545: Johnny lands, attacks, and pops back up to 85N10E40Z. He hits (rolled 38) for 18 points of damage. Cousin It is dead.

Next up for CN: a nimblewright. (MM II)

A humanoid steps nimbly into the arena to 0N35E. Nim wields a rapier in each hand and has long, maroon velvety cape embroidered with the insignia of General I2K. It turns its Dodge toward Johnny and casts cat's grace.

Round 546: Johnny lands at 45N15E (30 feet), moves to 10N15E (35 feet), attacks, and flies up to 10N15E35Z. He hits (rolled 31) for 21. Nim has 54 hp left.

Okay, but then why isn't it 60ft: 40ft of lateral movement + 20ft for descending 40ft. Or, do you propose that whenever descending you move double speed? Thus, Johnny could move from, say 0N0E20Z to 0N100E20Z, or he could move all the way to 0N200E if he also went to 15Z or lower. I really don't think that's the case. :)

OOC: Sorry for the questions/problems, but such a distinction could be much more important in later combats at high CR. I realize it doesn't change the outcome of this fight too much. :)

Nim casts haste, then Tumbles to 15N50E.
