CoC Delta Green Question

I've been looking through my copy of the CoC d20 book, and I've seen a lot of references to Delta Green. I've looked it up, and I like the idea. Does the book have enough new information to really be worth $40? If so, what is it? Thanks.

Oh ye gods and little fishes, yes!

It is essentially the background for an entire campaign, the organization, its enemies, history of the U.S. government's interactions with the Mythos, etc. You can spin at least a couple of years of gaming out of that book.

It contains a goodly selection of adventures as well, but the background is where it really shines.

In terms of content and quality it is the best roleplaying sourcebook I have ever seen.

My question is- where did you find it on sale for $40?

Given how long it's been out of print, I don't think I've seen it going for less than $60, and the new version isn't out yet that I'm aware of.

He might mean Delta Green: Countdown. That's still relatively available.

I just bought a copy for $25 - it was at my FLGS who had apparently just brought it out of storage.

As an aside, Countdown is bigger than the DG book and contains information on many foreign (ie, non-US) agencies as well as international threats in the same vein as the original. A lot of folks consider that book better than the first.

A lot of folks do, but you kinda need the first to get the most out of the Countdown.

Then you, sir, are my nemesis! :p

Ah well. I'll just have to wait to until next month to get my copy. At least I've got Countdown to keep me happy.

I actually did like Countdown more than the original DG, simply because I've never been a big X-Files or alien conspiracy fan. Countdown had more of a gritty, millenial feel that I really got into.
