Yes, there will be a searchable library. For instance:

Tap to open menu
Tap Search
Type "Barbarian attack"

Barbarian attack/hit die/armor class/ etc pops up.

How much "custom" work will the end user be able to interact with the material? Can we import our own images, background text, just adding to the material?

Custom everything is something we're working on. Because we're making this officially as a companion for 5e, there are quite a few hurdles we'll need to jump over in terms of custom/homebrew stuff.

As far as images, options to import your own character images/avatar/gravatar for YOU (not your PC) will be available.

Further customization of Morningstar is definitely a goal - how/when that gets implemented depends on feedback, functionality etc
