College Recipes

Last night I discovered a new way to be lazy with cooking. I found myself with a closed dining hall, a box of uncooked pasta, a cup, and a 190degree water tap. So I put some pasta in the cup, filled it with hot water, covered it, and 10 minutes later, voila! Spaghetti.

So this gave me the idea of writing a recipe book for the new lazy college student. But since I am only one person, I'm limited in the number of recipes that I know/have invented. Thus, I turn to you. I figure, many people must have some recipes from their college days, such as the infamous grilled cheese with an iron. So come forth with your laziness. I don't know if they will ever be published, but I assure you, at the very least, I will use them.

Ramen is much, much cheaper.

Who said anything about buying? This guy knows what I'm talking about...

:heh:

Come on, everyone's robbed a caravan in one way or another. ;)

Wish Sandwich: A wish sanbdwich is the kind of a sandwich in which you have two slices of bread and wished you had some meat

Ricochet Biscuit: The kind of a biscuit that's supposed to bounce back off the wall into your mouth. If it don't bounce back... you go hungry!

I was staying in a hotel on a trip in High School. Food there was super expensive, and there was nothing around, so I had brought some of my own stuff. Let's just say, it is possible to make Ramen in a coffee maker. It just takes an hour.

Also ToastChee and Squeeze Jelly were my saviors. An instant PBJ.

Squeeze condiments are just a good idea in general.

Or just put grapes between the bread like my friend does. :\

I've never actually tried this "delicacy" but a good friend of mine tells me of a meal called "hot dog soup" that his uncle supposedly ate when he was a starving actor (as far as I know he's still an actor and he hasn't starved yet - nor is he famous).

Anyway, when he mentioned "hot dog soup" I assumed that he was talking about a cheap soup made with some kind of base and cut up hot dogs. Not quite. Apparently he would wait until his room mate boiled hot dogs on the stove. After his roomie had removed the hot dogs from the pot he would take the vaguely hot dog tasting water that was left and add a few packets of ketchup taken from the local McDonalds. Voila! Hot Dog Soup!

I'm a bit dubious about the veracity of this story but it is funny (and a bit sad) to contemplate.
