Colossal Constructs?

Play Shadow of the Colossus, for the PS2. All the monsters in the game are enormous constructs. The smallest appears to be about Colossal size, and some of the others are much, much bigger. Each has a unique shape, only a few of which are humanoid.

A colossus is generally invulnerable, except for one or a few specific weak points. Your main weapon is a sword, so in order to attack, you need to physically climb the monster while it's thrashing around and trying to throw you off.

I always thought this would make a pretty sweet D20 adventure. You'd just need to account for magical flight and some other transport magic, to avoid making it too easy.

Wow, that sounds pretty cool! I think I saw that one for rent at my video store... I'll check it out. Thanks! :)

The Immortal's Handbook Bestiary has what you need. Dire/Behemoth/Teratoid/Macrobe templates to increase an existing construct's size, a number of new constructs with stats already up to that size, and even pretty precise rules for making new constructs out of whichever material you'd like.

Furthermore, colossal isn't even the limit. If you wanted, you could go titanic (WotC calls this Colossal+) or theoretically infinitely higher (using metric style prefixes in front of the size names, since with the addition of Titanic there are 10 given size categories).

I usually get headaches when I look at the epic stuff, but this sounds like an excellent idea to peruse.

And Thanee, I don't know why I didn't think of animated objects! I guess my brain was a little switched off. ;) Cheers! :)
