Combat Bonuses: Need some Help

Ok, I made a fighter that is VERY dex heavy and has an... interesting fighting style. My question is, should he get combat bonuses for doing certain feats (explained below) and how could it be done?

My character wields 2 bladed guantlets. Generally during a round if he has the opportunity he will most likely make 2 or 3 additional checks to do what he wants. For example, during a fight we were attacked by some lions. He backflipped past one, stopped, jumped onto one of their backs, made a succesful ride check to stay on, then slashed once at its neck (beating it's raised ac since the hair there was thicker or something like that [dm explanation]). Well, after all that he didn't get any bonuses. Everyone in my party says that he is still doing the most damage although I doubt it. But my worry is that as soon as the other tank gets his 2nd attack I will quickly be left behind. Others say that the only reason he does it is for "style". I mean sure, I could just stand there and slash but that is sooo boring.

Well... ok, I'm done..
Any suggestions?

i have no clue what your question is. but i think your basic question was should you get additional bonuses than given by taking feats, no. you only get the listed bonuses from the feats you take. now go ride a monkey

As a DM I would give you circumstance modifiers for breaking the mold of hack, hack, hack...

Is your DM required to give you anything? No.

Should he? Yes.

Read page 63 of the DMG Adjudicating Actions Not Covered .

There is an example of exactly the thing you are describing with a monk, and the DM gave the PC a +2 attack bonus.

Remember, these are not hard and fast rules, so don't shove the book at your DM and say, "SEE, I TOLD YOU SO!!"

Bring it up outside of gameplay, give some positive criticism, give him candy, then slap him silly...

Hmm

I am often using similar techniques (as well as running up walls and climbing on the ceiling (without spiderclimb)).

DM gives no bonuses too. He calls it minimaxing since I gave up to wait for appreciation and combine all that stuff now with flanking, tumble stuff, expertise, fighting defensively, singing (bard), throwing things, disarming with whip (quickdraw is a must with 15 melee weapons!) and barbarian rage. As well as some flavour spells. Yeah well.

Well, I DOUBT my DM will be giving be bonuses to attack. Especially considering generally when I do this I am having to beat a higher ac than everyone else. What I am really concerned with is, is there a way to implement a damage bonus type thing? I mean, wouldn't attacking the neck of a creature.. or the soft underbelly do more damage?

Talk to your Dm about it. If he doesn't like want the fights to be that way, there's not much you can do

And there's nothing wrong with him not wanting to, he might think it quickly gets too much to handle, or perhaps you're upstaging the other PCs too much.

And as for doing more damage to soft spots, consider taking a level or three of Rogue. That's what sneak attacks are all about. And flanking sounds like something you would do often.

The example with the lion is very interesting. It could be solved with using the Grapple Rules... Most the things you can think of are already taken care of by the rules.. :)
(Though I admit that the Ride Check is a nice idea... )

Should it: Yes

Does it in D&D: it's not applicible. Your talking about called shots. Those rules are optional, though they are in the DMG.
