Combat Casting

When I say using combat casting in combat I do mean in threatened spaces. So for example the wizard character doesn't need the feat to cast in a combat as a whole only to cast when next to a threatened square.

In the current campaign I play in not 1 single caster has ever taken combat casting as a low level char up to our current level 13. I took the feat with my very 1st character when 3e was released but again it didn't play much of a part for me.

Now I know there are a lot of feats that aren't used and I'll be going through each on an individual basis but I don't want players to be stereo typed as they are now, generally taking the same feats with whatever character they play as. For example, out of the 6 characters I've played with I've picked improved init for 5 of them enabling me the 1st action quite a lot, where as when it comes to concentration set with your stat and ranks and possible misc items to improve it you don't even worry about passing a concentration check.
I hold my hands up I've done it myself and that's the main reason why I posted this.

Again thank you all for your insights.
