combining lightning and thunder?

Was there some magic weapon enhancement that combined lightning and thunder for some other synergistic effect, or did I just dream that? If it exists, where can it be found?

Might have been a specific item somewhere. I don't remember readin about any base ability doing this.

The Shocking and Thundering abilities can be easily combined for the mere price of +2, the same as a shocking burst, except that it deals SLIGHTLY less damage on a critical hit, but involves sonic damage (big plus) and deafens (another big plus).

I've never seen the point of "XXXX Burst" weapons, since the Thundering ability is so much better.

There is a Rod of Thunder and Lightning that acts as a Mace, perhaps that is what you were thinking of.

Born of the Three Thunders in Complete Arcane. It's a metamagic feat that allows you to make any electricity or somic damage-dealing spell split its damage between both, then adds a stunning effect and a knock-down effect. It's pretty sweet, but instead of increasing the spell level it dazes the caster for 1 round.

I think it would not be too far of a stretch to add this ability to a shocking weapon, considering the dazing effects. Of course I would only add it to a SPECIFIC item, not as a purchasable weapon ability.

Well, you could get both for the mere price of +3...

But IMHO you are right. The "Burst" weapons are over priced. The solution, however, is a house rule (IMHO).
