Combining Natural Attacks and Melee Weapon Attacks...

Yes, but do you have to use them? The Half-Fiend in question has been stated to have three natural weapons: 2 claws and 1 bite. But the PC is choosing to use a greatsword instead of the claws. So the PC qualifies for the feat by having 3 natural weapons, but only wants to use one (the bite) in its full-attack sequence.

My point precisely.

Look at the Drider's attacks. He gets:

2 Short Swords +3
Bite +0

Reverse engineering these numbers gets:

2 Short Sword +3 (+4 BAB + 2 STR - 1 size - 2 twf)
Bite +0 (+4 BAB + 2 STR - 1 size - 5 as secondary natural weapon)

Just an FYI - in case it helps:
Dragon 292 (The Saurial issue) detailed how this works. This is the only published WotC source for these rules that I know of.

Summarized, it said that a natural-weapon character could use a weapon, and all it would change is that the weapon is considered its primary attack (full STR damage), and all other attacks are now secondary (1/2 STR damage, -5 to attack without Multiattack).

I brought up the point to make sure that "bite" wasn't the only natural attack he had, so it wasn't beside the point, but has been answered.
