Combining weapon enhancements...

Hi --

Is it possible for a weapon to possess both magic and psionic special abilities (for example, could someone have a Charged, Flaming Burst longsword)? I don't recall whether there was any mention of such in the PsiHB.

I don't recall reading anything specific. I think it should be possible. Make a unique type of weapon, that's for sure.

I believe that you can combine them. Here are the rules as I understand them; double-check before using them ('cause I'm not sure).

If you use the standard rules, they stack normally. If you use the "psionics aren't magic" optional rule, it must be enchanted twice. Magic enhancement bonuses overlap with psionic enhancement bonuses.

I sure hope I'm wrong, because this doesn't seem like a good way to handle it...

If you are doing this - you have to be using the psionics are magic rule. If psionics are different - you can't do this.

Just treat the psionic part of the weapon feature "plus" in the item's cost.

Now IIRC - flaming burst is a +1, as is charged. Since you have to have a +1 weapon at a minimum (DMG rule - where - I don't reacall off hand) -

Your weapon is a +3 psi charged, flaming burst "toy" - market value 9000 gp
