Level Up (A5E) Compatibility Question

I have been reading how this game is supposedly 100% compatible with D&D 5e but I am seeing evidence contrary to that claim. In what way is it compatible. For example can I make and Adept (your version of a Monk) and use the subclasses from Xanthar's or Tasha's. It doesnt seem like I can. Also can I use the expanded races from all the supplemental books from D&D to make a character in this game.

It’s backwards compatible. You can use O5E sublasses yep* (note for the monk we call ki focus). You can use an O5E race instead of an A5E heritage/culture. You can play any O5E adventure using A5E rules. You can use any O5E monster in your A5E game.

*you might find occasional exceptions, but the A5E classes are generally designed to work with O5E subclassrs

To expand: use an o5e race instead of an LU heritage culture, and if you use an o5e race and an LU background, either use the race's ASIs or the LU background's ASI.

I wouldn't suggest using LU archetypes with 05e classes, especially with the martial archetypes (because the exertion and maneuver thing doesn't translate), but there's basically no problem using o5e archetypes with LU classes. You might find using a battlemaster with the LU fighter to be a bit confusing because of the maneuvers, but it'll still work.

Yes, monk/adept experience very few conversion issues. The race question is a little more tricky but it can be done and done well.
