Complete Adventurer vs. Complete Divine

I came out as a True Neutral Elf Mage Bard, follower of Azuth. I have yet to take the D&D alignment test where I won't come out as TN. There was a huge DOS-based D&D alignment test a while ago; it had over 400 questions. Took me a whole day to go through it. TN with good tendencies. :)

Ok, back to topic ;)

Recently, a discussion came up about those swift/immediate spells in CAd. Some players IMG want to put most of these new spells in a box marked "BROKEN".

While I agree that some four or five CAd spells are very powerful (but can be balanced with minor changes), I don't like to ban all spells (some are balanced, if you consider the drawbacks, IMHO).

If you have good arguments to ban or not to ban a spell in Complete Divine and/or Complete Adventurer, please post.

One thing I've noticed is that all of the SWIFT spells seem to have a single round duration. They're useful for either getting into position, or saving your bacon. Not much else.
