I just wanna see how they manage a non-thief/rogue name for that Complete book.

Complete Scoundrel?

Complete Hooligan?

Complete Pain in the Ass?

Complete Sociopathic Klepto Halfling.

Good to know, but not totally unexpected. Now, if we just new more about what was in it...
Hopefully the one or two good Tome and Blood prestige classes that didn't make it into the DMG, along with the 1E-2E spells like Fool's Gold that have fallen upon the ashheap of history.

EDIT: And more familiars.

Like I said, The Complete Expert would probably the best title. It would be a mistake for them to approach such a book as if skills always equals "rogue". There are all kinds of skill-oriented character designs that need to be fleshed out.

I'm a little worried that classes such as the alienist will be updated and changed unnecesarily to justify the reprint. The alienst is a perfectly good class. All it needs is a few changes to update the DR to 3.5.

Some it would be great if they updated. I have high hopes for this book, as I really enjoyed CW. I'm hoping they adjust the SM lists to include a wider range of creatures.

You give us quite a few of them.

Just a question, Mike Donais is a WotC Staff designer, isn't he?

He is.

He has a designer credit for the Miniatures Handbook (and likely the game as well), and was the lead developer for the Complete Warrior. He came to fame through Magic: the Gathering.

Incidentally, for those unaware of the Magic Design & Development process, which I believe has been extended for the D&D RPG as well, it goes like this:

The Designers come up with all the wacky ideas for cards in the game, and give them various rules text.

The Developers then have the job of making sure the cards work, that they are understandable, and that they are balanced.

On any given product, the Designers aren't the same as the Developers, though people move from one job to another with different products. (And the two sides interact a lot anyway on a given product).

Cheers!

I would much rather have it named The Complete Rogue than The Complete Expert. I know they're trying to keep the names generic, but expert just screams NPC class. Besides, after the three we know about, the rogue will be the only class that hasn't seen siginificant treatment in this latest round of splat books.

We've been asking Mike Donais about this picture of him on the Magic: the Gathering site...

Is it me, or does he look very, very young?

Ok, I'll admit it, it probably just means that I'm getting very very old :)
