Complete Arcane Spell "Backbiter"

In looking at the preview on WotC's site, I noticed Backbiter is listed as a Necromantic Spell.

"NECRO Backbiter: Wooden-hafted weapon strikes wielder. "

Why would this be a Necromantic spell?

Perhaps because it is a curse type effect?

Backbiter is originally from Oriental Adventures, in which it's a 1st-level Wu Jen spell of the Wood element, and of the Abjuration type..... The CA preview might be a typo, or they might've decided it makes more sense as Necromancy..... Not sure why.

I remember it being from the original OA, and thought it was Abjuration. Hmmm..who knows?

Beats me. I'm sure I could justify it in flavor text in a few seconds if I really wanted - maybe you awaken vengeful plant spirits in the wood? They probably felt they needed more necromancy spells in the book.
