Complete Book of Eldritch Might...

Monte specifically said that he was making the material available for AU as well. It may not be specifically an AU product but it will be available to use in conjunction with.

Besides, he never said that it was a 3.5 product, only that it was beng upgraded to be more compatible with 3.5.

As the guy does not like 3.5 much, then I do not blame him for creating something more hybrid that can be used by both 3.5 users and those who stuck with 3e.

I've heard rumor it's available in stores but haven't actually seen it; Amazon still has it as "Not Yet Available"

I stopped by my FLGS during lunch today, and they had some copies. Unfortunately I was looking for a different book (Player's Guide to Monks & Paladins) which they didn't have.

All the rules material has been updated to v. 3.5 of the d20 System.

Sounds like he said exactly that to me. I'm hoping to hear from some more folks on this - what I've heard so far has discouraged me significantly. I had been planning on picking this up tonight, but I may wait to hear more about it's 3.5 implementation.

I just wanted to echo this. Despite having the PDF versions of all three BoEM's (and having some difficulty using the update patches), I had the compiled print version marked down as something to definately pick up. Having seen these points be addressed though, I now have some significant doubts about that. Hopefully a review of the final product will determine if it's more in line with 3.5E or not.

I'm torn on this.

I love the three BoEM so far (we use the alternate Sorcerer and Bard in our current campaign), but I have not switched to 3.5. OTOH, I am working up an AU campaign and would love to see the appendix where he has converted spells to AU format.

Guess I'll wait and see it in a store and decide then...

I bought it today at lunch. The fact it has collected the three previous books and updated them all to 3.5 was the seller for me. Also, I just prefer hardcovers to softcovers. I hadn't gotten around to buying the previous editions, so this was a no-brainer for me.

It looks good, and I tend to enjoy Monte's mechanics ideas at least in the abstract, so I'm looking forward to having the time to spend on a good readthrough. Apart from that I can't tell you guys much about it until I've had some time.

Never brought the 3.0 books but a couple people I respect on this board have them and like them so I see this as my chance to buy them. :)

Don't get me wrong -- there's lots of great stuff in these books, stuff that I use and love in my own campaign. I would probably recommend the compiled version to a friend who had not picked up 3.0 versions, in print or as pdfs.

But for those of who have bought the 3.0 versions, I think the decision becomes much tougher. The compiled book had three major appeals -- fully updating the material to 3.5, combining everthing under one cover, and providing conversion notes for those playing AU.

If I played AU and the 3.5 conversion is a little off, then hey, there are still two legs on that stool. But I don't -- so $34 just to put all three books under one nice cover? I just dunno. I figure can probably score a big binder somewhere.

The book is selling.

Games Plus in Mt. Prospect sold its last copy to one of my friends yesterday.

I have only looked at the book from the side so to speak but it doesn't look like a very deep 3.5 conversion, more of a shallow type that Mongoose would do. The feat mentioned here for example, doesn't really warrant those massive requirements anymore for augmenting summoned creatures as 3.5 has its own version which is a bit better with its +4 Strength and Consistution and easier prerequisites.

I'd buy this if I didn't already own all of the original books. But I do , so this is a luxury that I can't afford. Truth be told, I don't use much stuff from them at all, but am planning on using some BOEM3 elements eventually.

The Hardcover sure looks nice though.
