Complete Champion

Oh I know.

It's just WoTC seems on the true path of medicority.

Spell descriptions that are repeated in the game mechanics of the spells? Check.

PrCs that take up four to five pages? Check.

Expanded monster descriptions that take up two pages? Check.

It's like WoTC has run out of things mechanically interesting to do and is running around trying to fill that void.

Thos blips would be when WoTC does something that I'd consider out of left field like Tome of Magic or Magic of Incarnum. At this point they're release schedule seems almost painfully obvious to predict but hey, I'm always hopeful.

I see what ya mean, sad to see them go down that line.

Personally, I'd like to see a Fiendish Codex 3 on yugoloths, Book of Perfect Balance (neutral alignment book), Monster Manual 5 with more converted monsters than new ones (and more NEW monsters as opposed to rehashes from MM One), more monster-themed books (a Fey book is long overdue), and maybe a Celestial Codex? There's also a Complete Epic they should consider and Complete Incarnum, maybe, and well I can go on.

I think at this point they should concentrate more on expanding the horde of new material they came up with than to make more new material. A Tome of Magic 2 and Tome of Battle 2 that expanded upon the originals would not be a bad idea.

The new issue of Dragon mentions the title of the next Complete * book. Complete Champion, companion to Complete Divine. That's the only info given.

Can ya tell us other stuff in Dragon #347? Tell us what's in the Archomental article, I'd like to know the CR of each of them. Tell us what's in Class Acts, too.

I'm still at work, but I can tell you that the archomentals are all CR22 except Ogremoch who's CR24. The class acts include a ranger frequent rule cheat sheet (rules for cover, 2 weapon penalties, etc), rules for divine casters that have lost faith, and I can't recall the other 2.

I was thinking, for a second, he meant Ahn'Qiraj.

Boy, I've been playing WoW a bit too long now.
I think a book of bug-related high-CR monsters would be really disturbing ...

(Turn your ambient sound all the way up when hunting in the hives in Silithus if you want to make your skin crawl!)

Based on the name, I'm thinking it will be a paladin-focused book, with alternative paladin-like classes (perhaps variations on those in UA) and feats to allow other charecter classes to get in on the smiting.

If so, maybe they'll rewrite the various paladins of every alignment that was printed in a couple of Dragon magazines about a year ago.

And I'll go for a cleric who can smite without the right domain..... ;) And also the ability to Detect Evil at will too.

If he has Dragon #347 now, that means Alzirius should be posting his previews anytime soon.

Oh kilimanjaro, could you tell us what #348 previews are by any chance? thanks. And the other 2 class acts articles, I hope there's a set of feats in one of them.
