I'm still waiting to see them offer better alternatives for those paladins that don't like charging or like having to lug around a mount.

Not the ones I play. Usually it's "I see evil, I smite it thoroughly!" No charging involve. Divine wrath and such.

That said, after two WotC hardcovers about arcane spellcasters, with hundreds of combined pages, why is it that familiars can't get even as many pages as new spells for a non-core class?

Guess you'll just have to hold out for the Complete Familiar and it's companion (pun intended) book, Complete L'il Helper.
