Complete Mage ToC

I'm glad they don't have a lot of warlock support, that is the stuff that has limited use. It only works with one class where the feats and prestige classes can work with multiple base classes.

It seems like it wouldn't be hard to make PrCs and invocations that work for Dragonfire Adepts (from Dragon Magic) as well as warlocks.

My guess as to the PrCs:

Ultimate Magus: Sorceror or Wizard/Warlock
Eldritch Theurge: Cleric/Warlock
Eldritch Disciple: Monk/Warlock

I'm thinking the ED will advance Flurry of Blows and allow Eldritch Blast to be used with it (or at least hideous blow), and grant a slowed rate of Invocations - but no actual Eldritch Blast advancement.

Even in Dragon Magic though the invocations for both classes are seperate.

That said, after two WotC hardcovers about arcane spellcasters, with hundreds of combined pages, why is it that familiars can't get even as many pages as new spells for a non-core class?

Obviously they are aware of that book and know that anything they come up with will pale in comparison and they just can't have that happen. So, they ignore the topic. :p ;)

So what the heck is an Ultimate Magus? Dare I ask?

Where's that mouse when you need him. . . eh, never mind that actually. NDAs and all, no doubt.

Right here, and biting his tongue for all he's worth. :heh:

I'd really love to answer some of these questions (especially since the PrCs mentioned so far are all ones I worked on). But I can't.

I will say this, since I'm not giving away any content that hasn't already been announced. To those who were hoping for more "specialists as base classes," I feel ya. I'd like to see that, too. However, I think most of you specialist fans will be pretty happy with what you can achieve by combining some of the alternate class features with the master specialist PrC. :)

How do people note alternate class abilities on a character sheet? Between Races of Stone, UA and Complete Magus, I could make a completely insane gnome illusionist with all the alternate abilities.

I'm very happy that there are no new base classes!!!!

This dispostion expressed by some of you puzzles me. WhileI don't think new classes are really necessary, why actually be happy about a lack of such content? If new classes were included, they'd be purely optional anyway. It's not like stuff has to be used because it's there.
