Complete Psioinc...now we've had time...

As for the "fiasco", come on. How do you whoop out something awesome like XPH, Races of Stone, and PHB2, and Complete Adventurer and then totally screw up on something like Complete Psionics and Races of Destiny for example? It's obvious what WotC should be doing and not doing, by the large fans of the former product list and the despisement of the latter list.
Everyone makes a less than stellar book now and again, it's just unfortunate that the Psionics book (something that could really use the support) happened to be the one.

That said, CP isn't abysmal, in my opinion it's just horribly mediocre. The Ardent is utterly fantastic, probably the best new base class to come out of the Complete books so far. The Soulbow is grand, some of the powers are pretty good, and the Divine Mind is a solid, rules-based execution, too bad the flavor text kinda sinks it. :)

Wow, dude, where have you been? Every Complete Psionic thread I have gone to has a gargantuan ratio of those dissatisfied with Complete Psionics to those satisfied (and even that crowd is only semi-satisfied). That's what I mean by "widespread". Go to any CP thread and you'll see it. I am on their side, of course.

I'm not sure if you are tooting your own horn or angling for a WOTC editor job.

At least I hope you are trying to be constructive.

At least a little bit.

Anyone want to try finding how many of the new powers are good? Some aren't. Some seem like powers that are horribly situation-based and won't be learned by anyone except the erudite (and even then, with the XP cost, that's doubtful)

The Ardent is a good concept but I have tried a few trial characters & NPCs and haven't gotten it to work well. To create a useful character you have to cherry pick domains that work well togeather, and if you do that it reduces the pure ideology of the class that makes it so interesting.
Could not be more of the fault some Domains work too well together?
I still like the changes to Astral constructs, weaking them and adding flavor - its all good.
before this I had excluded them from my games, they will now begin to show up.
Oh, how did they weaken them?

Who's tooting what horn? I'm being honest in my opinions, I don't spew out what I don't believe to be truth.

I mean, I could've swore I stated it earlier. "Go look at any CP thread". Jeez I dunno how clear I could've been. Maybe psionic crystal clear? :\

It's Razz. "Constructive" isn't in the vocabulary.

One doesn't have to be constructive to make sense.

And one doesn't have to leech onto one particular poster on both these boards and WotC's boards to rag on just cause his views oppose his own. :\

Run everyone, Razz has strong opinions and they might beat your ego resistance so flee! Cast your warding spells and boost those bonuses to Will saves!

:p
