Complete Warrior Feats

I'm pretty happy with the Complete Warrior. Other than Improved Rapid shot, the feats are all balanced pretty well.

Improved Rapid Shot: no penalty when using rapid shot.

The feat is too powerful because it gives archers a +2 to hit, and most other feats are only giving out a +1 (precise shot, weapon focus, etc.). However, it does cut down on MATH because the player doesn't have to figure in the -2 anymore. So, on that basis, the feat is ok. Likewise, Improved Precise Shot in the PHB also cuts down on MATH (for cover/concealment), which makes it a good feat, although a bit too powerful.

I can see a lot of barbarians going after Combat Brute and Shock Trooper, but those feats aren't out of balance after you think about them for a while.

I dont know if this is balanced. A fighter using 2 weapon will be at disadvantage, because he aply only half STR in the second hand attack, and the archer apply full STR (if a composite bow is used) in all attacks and doesnt have penalty to hit.

A two-weapon fighter should take ranks in Dervish. Then he can move and still full-attack while using Dervish Dance.

That feat is from the "How to design a feat" article written by Johnathan Tweet in the very first issue of Dragaon after 3.0 came out. I can't remember the full explanation of its design, but basically feats that give a larger bonus in limited circumstances are balanced with feats that always give a certain bonus. It only gives a +2 bonus when the character is making a full attack using rapid shot, but weapon focus gives a +1 always.

The problem with this logic is that it's virtually always in an archer's interest to use Rapid Shot -- Rapid Shot isn't really used in "limited circumstances." Thus Improved Rapid Shot's +2 bonus really is too high.

Also, note that Rapid Shot has been demonstrated to be an overpowered feat in itself. It makes more sense either to set the penalty to -4 (and perhaps lower it to -2 with Improved Rapid Shot), or, better, to replace it with a different feat (as in AU).

IME you can get a full attack with a ranged weapon very often. Very very often, even while I'm facing dangeroud opponents nearby.

For some reason they won't rush me ... afraid of AoOs or something like that :)

Even if they rush you, you can usually take a five-foot step back and unleash a full attack anyway.
