Complete Warrior vs. Sword & Fist

Kirowan

First Post
I don't own any of the Wizard's class splat books. Actually I don't own class splat books from any company actually. So, I was thinking of picking up S&F, but I noticed that Complete Warrior will cover some of that material in it and be hardcover too. So, is S&F still going to be worth it. Does anyone have any other information not listed in the product's description?

Thanks,

Nick

You're doomed to disappointment here Nick. We only very recently found out the little three-sentance blurb that we currently have on Complete Warrior. It will, most likely, be months before we get more detailed information on what the book contains.

All I can say is that, if it has 75% new material, that means it can't be copying that much from S&F, so the latter may be a worthwhile purchase for you. Note however that S&F has a rather large errata section on the web, and rightly so. In the end, its your call.

Thanks anyway. I wonder what will be reprinted from Sword & Fist? I'm more interested in new tactics and equipment than new feats and PrC. I'm think Complete Warrior will probably end up being a better buy.

Thanks,

Nick

If you want good splatbooks, check out Fantasy Flight Games' "Path of..." series. IMO, all are better than their WotC counterparts.

The amount of errata in S&F has been somewhat exaggerated at times.

Still, if it were my nickel, I'd wait for the Warriors book.

I'm brutally disappointed in Sword and Fist so I think you should wait. I'm very tempted to pick up "Path of the Sword," but my local gaming stores don't have it. :(

Well, 75% of 160 pages would 120 pages of new material. That leaves 40 pages to reprint/revised much of the prestige classes (minus some that already added to the revised DMG) as well as feats (minus those added to PHB) from Sword and Fist, Defenders of the Faith, and Masters of the Wild (the warrior-related combat-focused material).

Just speculating.
