Yeah, I'd say Mastermind covers this space pretty well, especially with the Charlatan background. Any details that it misses that you're looking for?

Answer: you're now in another gaming system :)

D&D is a good heroic RPG for battling monsters and taking their loot. It is (IMO) a poor system for deep social interaction or complex mind games. You can explore this avenue, but I don't think the system will support satisfying solutions for you.
