Conan 1st printing worth it?

Ahh here's one of the quotes I was looking for (emphasis mine):

I could have sworn that somewhere else there was mention of the art in the pocket version being b&w as well, but can't seem to find it at the moment.

Well, in this instance I wouldn't mind being wrong. :) I've been reading through the Mongoose Pocket Modern and without illustrations to break it up it is a dry read indeed.

The irony is, the chapter on underwater combat is even more dry.

;)

If there are no illustrations, then the big thing you're missing out on is the Map. That's pretty important. And worth putting up with a few "spellb.ooks"

Nope, not a one. None of their pocket editions do. I have Modern, and looked seriously at Fantasy, not even diagrams for combat.

That said, I like their pocket editions, they are solid, have decent bindings, and do the job. I intend to pick up the one for B5. I may pick up Conan as well, but I want the hardcover first, the pocket edition would be a loaner copy.

Well, as I'd tend to recommend buying the Road of Kings as well then that would address that need or else most editions of Conan books tend to have a map in some form.

I am pretty certain that the pocket version has the same content (including noncrunch) as the full rules. (Just not the pictures, etc)
Not according to the post over in the Publishers forum (and reproduced above by Krieg).
