Ok, I have my first concerns about 4e now..

Ok, I have been an advid supporter of trust the developers. But this new design article has brought up two concerns:

1) Overly colorful names for feats (and their like) with Golden Wyvern adept. I really do not like how this affects the feel of my campaign. This is because players reference and use this rules, so I can not remove them or rename them as a DM like I can a monster or magic item.

2) The restricting of feats and talents into classes moreso than 3.0 or 3.5. Now, I know that talents are going to be looser, and I know that you can be one class and dabble in another to get feats and talents you want, but I don't think I like the FEEL of that. I don't like that I have to take some levels of ranger to get two weapon fighting or a few levels of rogue to get mobility. It is counter to the feeling of many characters in stories. What if I don't want to multiclass but i want something that could be a single feat instead of 3 levels in a class?

These two elements have me concerned a bit. I do not like the feel this puts on the characters and would like the designers to address these concerns.

I'm not sure we know for sure how much of your second point is valid just yet since we don't have that much info. Perhaps there will be certain in class options that allow a bit of overlap?

When it comes to my list of 4e concerns, these would not make the top two, but I agree that the new names are quite irritating.

I don't agree with either concern. I don't care about the names of feats, and don't feel that the names offered so far will meaningfully affect the campaign flavor of anything but the most esoteric of campaigns. And I am in favor of matching character classes to combat styles, though I don't think that the Designer Diary was as all encompassing on this point as some people seem determined to believe.

We don't really know enough about 2 yet to make judgements. Perhaps some of the feats inside the classes will overlap into the others, just not in an extreme way.

Overall, these would not make my top two concerns, though the name is annoying.

Do you have another duplicate thread out that is the same without the poll?

I have it redirecting here now. Sorry about that. Wanted to add the poll after I posted and it wouldn't let me.
