Consolidated Metamagic

Just to be clear here, it doesn't bother you that the 18th level wizard with a +40'ish spellcraft bonus can both Quicken and Empower every single First (DC 39) and Second (DC 44) and Third (DC 49) level spell he prepares for the day?

Also, since this gives spontaneous metamagic to the Wizard, who already has the best spellcraft score, have you done anything to rebalance the Sorceror?

I see your point Pyrex. I failed to remember that different caster classes focused on abilities other than INT. I'm not sure if I have a problem with that in my game. I have given certain advantages to the Sorcerer and Wizard classes to make them more opposed. These changes make Wizards better at using metamagic, and give Sorcerer's more advantages with their familiar. I also made sure that Clerics, Bards, and Druids had more versatility with their Supernatural powers. High level Wizards that could cast Quickened and Empowered Fireballs on the fly without having to roll weren't a problem in my game either. Sure I had to design challenges to accomodate for it, and all of my players made sure they had Evasion, but I have to do that in every game I run.
