Hello, everyone!
I'm planning on playing a wizard in the next campaign who usually relies on illusion magic, but when things turn ugly will polymorph/shapechange and try to beat on something. However, I've never played a wizard before. I'm planning on having Chain Contingency (eventually), Quicken Spell, and, using Arcane Disciple, access to the spells of the Competition domain (which include Greater Visage of the Deity, Divine Power and Righeous Might, among others).
For Wizards who have done this before, what do you think are the best spells to quicken/contingency to get a mage up for physical combat in a short amount of time (at most 2 rounds or so)?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
