Playing a Kobold Swashbuckler 5/Whispers Bard 5/Chainlock Hexblade 4. She is basically a mafia Don in the city of Neverwinter and a Tiamat cult leader who talks to her magic sword and has a White Pseudodragon familiar. Rest of party is a Lawful Good Half Elf Paladin (who I am amazingly best buds with), Human Shepard Druid, Earh Genasi Abjuration Wizard and Warforged Barbarian.
I am going to Warlock 5 next and debating both spell selection and Invocation
Right now she has the following feats, spells and Invocations:
Feats:
Fey Touched (charisma) Dissonant Whispers, Misty Step
Gift of the Chromatic Dragon
Spells
Kobold: Green Flame Blade (Charisma)
Bard: Friends, Mending, Prestidigitation, Charm Person, Healing Word, Feather Fall, Heroism, Aid, Silence, Dispel Magic, Hyp. Pattern
Warlock: Booming Blade, Mage Hand, Magic Stone, Cause Fear, Shield, Wrathful Smite, Branding Smite, Hold Person
Invocations (with Pseudodragon Familiar)
Investment of the Chain Master, Gift of the Everliving Ones.
On level 5 Warlock I am going to get Counterspell. I am debating giving up Hold Person for another spell, either Hex, Hunger of Hadar or Antagonize. Keep in mind I have Bard slots as well (so low level spells are cast usually with a low level slot).
Also I am looking at Invocations and trying to choose between Eldritch Mind or Maddening Hex
My thoughts:
Antagonize is very thematic with her character, play style and story thus far (as is counterspell). Hex is too. HOH not as much.
In terms of optimization Eldritch Mind is probably the right choice for invocation, but that seems so boring.
Maddening Hex sounds a lot cooler, but it would really require the Hex spell I think to pair with it. I am also worried about cluttering my bonus action. Right now I have the following bonus actions available: Bardic Inspiration (lots of uses), Hexblade Curse (1/short rest), Chromatic Infusion (1/long rest), Draconic Cry (5 times/long rest), IOCM pseudodragon attack, Magic Stone, Cunning action, steady aim.
