Controlled free-falling while under feather fall spells

I you are under a feather fall spell and falling, can you control your decent like a skydiver would? How much distance would you fall before you were able to "drift" left or right 5'?

By the rules, I don't think you could do this. I believe there is a Ranger spell somewhere called Glide that would allow something akin to this.

If I were to house adjudicate this, I would probably require that the PC be near something they can push off from. Though, if a player came up with a cool way to describe it, I might let a lot slide.

My original idea was to possibly allow someone to "steer" their body using the wind resistance against their falling body. However, after calculating how slow someone falls, I don't think there would be enough resistance to allow you to steer.

A character under the effect of feather fall falls at roughly 6.82 miles per hour. It would take 8 minutes and 48 seconds to fall a mile over the course of 88 rounds.

Also, keep in mind that a skydiver doesn't have too much control over their direction until they open their chute. A body just doesn't have enough surface area to create the same 'plane' effect that that a wide chute does.
