Conversions

I never really payed much attention to the conversion effort that was put on here back when 3e was first coming out, but now my girlfriend has decided to DM her first game (awww ... so cute!) but for some reason insists on using an old 2e module I had laying about the house.

I was hoping to come look at the conversion archive (I remember WotC saying we could keep it up) but couldn't find it.

Did I remember wrong? Did we have to take it down? Or was there never one in the first place and the concept of a conversion archive is such a great idea I just invented, someone is going to go make one right now?

if it's not there (less than likely) it's really easy to keep the plot lines and just pull out the critters from the SRD online. The CRs will need massaging, but should be ok for any typical monster encounters. Take your best guess with any new critters, and the whole process should take only a few hours though the first time you do it will take longer until you get used to it.

I guess chances are it wouldn't be found since its more of an introductory adventure than a real full blown module. Still one could hope. Thanks for the help guys.

For those wondering, its the adventure in the book named Shadowdale that came with the Grey Forgotten Realms box. For something supposed to be some kind of low level adventure, it used to puree my old adventuring group time and time again.

It became something of a ritual every couple of months to throw a party in there and watch them wipe out at the same spot every time. My girlfriend heard us reminiscing about it and demands HER chance at running it. Psh. Women. :p ;)

Originally WotC gave generic permission for conversions and a lot were done. Then WotC revoked that permission and provided specific new requirements for conversions to be posted and all the old ones got yanked to comply with the new guidelines.

Very few new ones have been put up since then.

I remember that one...it used to obliterate us, as well...I used to have to threaten to run naughty characters in it...it was my campaign's version of hell :)
