Then we would need to drop another feat to make room for Open Minded or Persuasive.

Here are my proposals:

#1
skill ranks: Bluff 3, Intimidate 3, Listen 4, Sense Motive 4, Spot 5
feats: Blind-Fight, Improved Critical (bite), Iron Will, Lightning Reflexes, Persuasive, Weapon Focus (bite)

#2
skill ranks: Bluff 5, Intimidate 5, Listen 4, Sense Motive 5, Spot 5
feats: Improved Critical (bite), Iron Will, Lightning Reflexes, Open-Minded, Persuasive, Weapon Focus (bite)

Hmm, might like #2 better.

I like #2 better too. Neither Gibbering Mouthers or Gibbering Orbs have Blind-Fight in the SRD.

Shall I update the Working Draft?

I'm OK with #2.

You can if you want, but I'm updating Homebrews. ;)

Oh yes, this is one of the few occasions when I didn't do all the heavy lifting myself. :p

It's got a "dies after X days" at the end of the Gibberspawn writeup.

We'd decided on Challenge Rating 1/2 for the Gibberspawn.

The Greater Mouther looks about Challenge Rating 9, possibly an 8.

A regular Mouther tops off Large-size at 12 HD, suggesting:

Advancement 17-24 HD (Huge); 25-48 HD (Gargantuan)?

Updated.

A greater gibbering mouther is about x feet across and x to x feet high. It weighs about x pounds.

Let's see, the Scarlet Brotherhood says it's 8 feet high.

A standard Mouther is 3-4 feet high, 3 feet across and weighs 200 lbs.

That suggests 8 feet across and 8-10 feet high, which would work out to... 3800 pounds.

I'm thinking a big mouther is likely to "squish outwards" under its own weight, so I'd make it a bit wider. Let's say 10 ft, which works out to approx. 6000 pounds.

A greater gibbering mouther is about 10 feet across and 8 to 10 feet high. It weighs about 6000 pounds.

If it's squishing out at the bottom, it would still be the same weight. So rather than being hemispherical, it's a bit concave in cross-section. I'd leave the weight still around 4000 lb.

If it's bulging outwards under its own weight, wouldn't it be more likely to be convex and thus heavier?

Anyhow, my calculations just stretched the dimensions to figure out the weight, so it's 'bulge' would be a bit shallower but not greatly so.

If we're using the 10 foot diameter I'd stick to 6000 pounds.

If you really want them to be 4000 pounds it'd work out better with an 8 foot diameter, but you'll have to convince me that's better. It's Huge, remember, so at the very least I'd want it more than twice as wide as a standard Medium-sized Mouther.
