D&D 3.x Converting monsters from Mayfair Games Role Aids product line

I think that's it. Let's give death throes a try:

Death Throes (Ex): When a lesser dust spider dies, it explodes in a burst of dust. All creatures within 5 ft must succeed on a DC 10 Fortitude save or be dazzled for 1 round. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Pretty wimpy, but I think these are low-level enough for that to be reasonable.

Updated.

Did I miss anything covered since the last update?

Didn't someone propose giving them Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat, like Tiny Monstrous Spiders get?

Apart from that, you need to add poison and webs to the "Special Attacks:" line of its stats.

I think that's everything we came up with.

Are we keeping them "Usually Neutral"?

I'm wondering whether "Always Neutral" wouldn't make more sense for these elementally-based magical creatures.

We could up it so they're blinded for 1 round on a failed save, and dazzled for 1 round on a successful save?

Perhaps. We just need to see what's reasonable for the CR. I'd definitely consider blinding (for longer) for the greater version.

We were talking about basing the Greater's death throes on dust of sneezing and choking, which is much nastier - 2d6/1d6 Con plus 5d4 rounds of stun!

Huh, the attack bonus doesn't include the Str penalty yet. Anyway, Weapon Finesse as a bonus makes sense and certainly would follow precedent. Let's do that.

Updated.

Lesser dust spiders are x feet in diameter and weigh x pounds.

Dust spiders speak x.

2 foot diameter legspan and 1 pound weight? Methinks they'd be pretty lightweight.

As for languages, a crude form of Terran would be my best guess - they look more closely tied to the elemental plane of Earth than Air.
