Thoughts on freyar's suggestion of augmented critical?

Should these be claw attacks rather than slams? Or should we note that its slam attacks deal half slashing damage?

I think claw attacks makes more thematic sense. Augmented critical is also a good idea.

Rend armor and claws are good calls, and this is looking pretty good.

2d6 and 20 feet for the death throes? Con-based seems a little funny for the DC somehow. Might want to put an ability focus on that.

Golems tend to get the (animated) shaft on save DCs. See also: iron golem's breath and stone golem's slow.
